Saint Francis Hospice’s choir raised nearly £2,000 after hosting its Autumn Voices concert.
The choir – made up of hospice volunteers, staff and families – performed at the South West Essex and Settlement Reform Synagogue on Sunday, November 4.
Performers included 14-year-old violinist Rejus Jakas, Mezzrano Opera Duo Emily Onsloe and Jennifer Mugleston who sang a number of classical opera duets, and Royal Academy of Music student Antoine Pichon on piano.
Hospice volunteer Keith Atkins played an emotional tribute to his late wife Jan, who was cared for by the hospice, by singing the Yazoo hit Only You.
Co-founder of the group based in Havering-Atte-Bower, Rita Gersh, said it was a “superb afternoon with a lovely atmosphere.”
She added: “Thank you to everyone who took part as well as our lovely audience and all those that made donations including raffle prizes.”
The choir’s next performance will be held at the hospice’s education centre on Saturday, December 1.
