The Hornchurch branch of the Royal British Legion is celebrating more than 50,000 of donations during November.

The charity, based in Hornchurch High Street, netted 40,000 by selling poppies and 10,000 through donations and wreath sales.

And a further 6,625 was raised during a charity boxing event organised by Lee Brown Events.

“We are delighted,” said Terry Minshaw, one of the legion’s poppy appeal organisers.
