Pupils shared some festive cheer by singing carols at Queen’s Hospital.

The choir from Suttons Primary School, Suttons Lane, Hornchurch, were the first to perform in the hospital in Rom Valley Way, Romford, on Monday.

The Year 1 to Year 6 pupils enchanted patients, staff and visitors by singing Away in a Manger, We Wish you a Merry Christmas and Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer.

They were accompanied by French teacher Rosie Dowler on the piano.

Early years lead and choir master Wendy Hind said the children had been practicing for the little concert for two months.

“It was the first time they had sung at the hospital and they really enjoyed it. They also enjoyed the bus ride there and back and were singing all the way – the bus driver was very impressed,” she said.

The Christmas season at the hospital sees many children from local schools and local choirs performing for patients and staff.
