Residents of a care home were treated to special gifts from secondary school pupils last week.

Teenagers from The Albany, Broadstone Road, Hornchurch brought “love in a box” to residents of Ravenscourt Nursing Home, Ravenscourt Grove, Hornchurch.

The luxury boxes included biscuits, stationary and toiletries along with messages from the kind pupils.

Assistant head teacher, Walter Mahony said: “We work very closely with our local community and we want our neighbours to see the positive side of young people .

“Our pupils have responded to this project with generosity , creativity and enthusiasm and I’m sure the Ravenscourt residents will appreciate their time and their gifts.”

Care home manager Hilary Ryan added: “The kids were great.

“They joined in a quiz with the residents who love that sort of thing.

“It was a really positive experience for them.”
