Evie Chisnell, 10, of Birch Crescent, Hornchurch, decided after hearing about the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides wigs and hair pieces to children who suffer hair loss due to cancer treatment, that she wanted to do her bit to help by donating her hair.

She said: “There are children out there who need hair a lot more than I do, so I just wanted to do something to make a difference to someone’s life.

“I’m really happy that I’ve done it and I want to keep on growing and cutting my hair in the future so that I can make more donations.”

Evie has also managed to raise more than £800 for the charity.

Toni, Evie’s mum, said: “It was all her own idea and for her to do such a selfless thing at a young age is amazing.”
