Hornchurch firefighters were called to the scene of a crash on the M25 this morning to cut a man out of his vehicle.

The incident happened on the anticlockwise carriageway between junctions 27 and 28 at about 11.45am. Essex Fire Brigade were also on the scene, but Hornchurch’s specialist fire rescue unit was needed to release the person.

It is understood East of England Ambulance Service were on the scene and took the man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, to hospital.

A second car was also involved, but no one was trapped in it.
