Hornchurch driver who died after falling ill at wheel named by police

The Hornchurch driver who died after falling ill at the wheel and crashing into a building on Friday has been identified.

David Willard, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene when his blue Vauxhall Astra was involved in a collision with an industrial unit in Fenton Way, Basildon, Essex.

Essex Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened.

It is believed the collision occured sometime before 9am.

Witnesses can contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit of Essex Police on 101.
