Hornchurch driver arrested after motorcyclist dies in crash

A 24-year-old man from Hornchurch has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist died in a late night crash.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 10.50pm last night, to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Vauxhall Corsa in London Road, near the junction with Straight Road in Stanway, Colchester.

A 20-year-old motorcyclist from the Colchester area was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 24-year-old is currently in custody for questioning.

The road was closed for forensic examinations and reopened shortly after 3.15am.
