Hornchurch cyclist dies following fatal collision in Rainham

A 58-year-old cyclist has died of his injuries four days after a fatal collision with a car in Rainham.
Emergency services were called at 7.10am on May 11 after reports of a cyclist being hit by a car at the junction between Rainham Road and Sowrey Avenue.
Christopher Holt, 58, of Hornchurch, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
He died in hospital four days later on May 15.
A post mortem examination was held at Queen’s Hospital, Rom Valley Way, Romford, and the cause of death was a blockage in the pulmonary artery, also called a pulmonary embolism.
The woman driving the car stopped at the scene and was not arrested. She continues to assist the police with their enquiries.
The investigation is on going.
