Police want any witnesses to come forward after the collision in the A12

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries last night after a collision in the A12 northbound, at the Suffolk border.

Police believe the biker, thought to be a man in his 60s from Hornchurch, lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle at around 7.25pm and collided with the central reservation at junction 30, Stratford St Mary

The road was closed in both directions after the man ended up in the southbound side of the central reservation.

He was taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital, Essex.
