Generous Rotarians donated £300 to Crossroads Care Havering last week.
Brian Taffs of the Hornchurch and Upminster Rotary Club visited the Romford charity, based in Pettits Lane, on Wednesday and handed over the cheque – which was received gratefully by staff as deputy Mayor Cllr Eric Munday looked on.
Crossroads CEO Kathy Verges said the charity was “extremely pleased” by the donation.
“The money will be used directly to support people in Havering who care for their loved ones,” she said. “Havering has the largest population of older people in London and we need to continue to support older carers so they can continue in their caring role.
“Local support is critical to our cause and we are truly grateful for this.”
