Kind-hearted youngsters from four Havering primary schools organised a festive disco to raise cash for local charities.
Twenty savvy schoolchildren from Hacton Primary, R J Mitchell, Elm Park Primary and Scargill Junior schools held their first joint school council meeting back in November to discuss ways to raise money for their community.
It was agreed to hold a Christmas disco at the Sanders Draper School, Hornchurch, for local year five and six children – and the big night took place on Wednesday, December 12, with ticket sales raising 250.
It will be decided at the council’s next meeting in the New Year which charities should receive the money.
