Fire crews from Harold Hill and Hornchurch were called when a lorry smashed into the front of a house in Gants Hill, Ilford.
A crew member said the lorry had collided with a parked car and crossed the central reservation on the A12, missing traffic and pedestrians but crashing into the front of a house on the opposite side of the road.
The crews, including the Hornchurch Fire Rescue Unit and an engine from Hainault, were called at 1.15pm today (Tuesday) and spent about an hour at the scene.
A woman in the house was taken by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Queen’s Hospital, Romford. The LAS also said a man in his 50s, believed to be the truck driver, was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone to be treated for a hand injury.
