Christmas just got a whole lot better – thanks to a Havering bakery chain.

Godfrey’s Bakeries, based in Hornchurch but with stores across the borough, has made a special Christmas dinner doughnut for the festive season.

It’s described as “the best bits of Christmas dinner”, and is made from sage-infused dough, dusted with turkey salt and a roasted potato crumb, then finished with cured maple candied bacon and a cranberry drizzle glaze.

Inside there is a “festive surprise”: a thick gravy centre.

We’re a bit sceptical about it. Will it be a festive disaster or a Christmas miracle? So we’re going to try it for ourselves. Check back later for updates.
