Health professionals have held a day-long cancer event described as the first of its kind.
Talks and marketplace-style stalls aimed at supporting those who have completed treatment were organised at Romford YMCA, in Rush Green Road.
They covered a wide range of subjects including nutrition, emotional wellbeing, coping with fatigue, the consequences of treatment, and the benefits of physical activity.
Macmillan cancer information officer Alix Holmes, who helped organise the January 9 event, said: “This education and information event is to enable people living with cancer, post treatment, to take control and participate in their recovery, giving them necessary information, and promoting a positive lifestyle change.”
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) arranged the event.
