April Laugh from Abbs Cross Gardens in Hornchurch, was inspired to write Lifestyle Change with April: Your Guide to a Healthier You, after she helped her husband lose 6st in ten months.

She said: “I decided to write this book after seeing so many success stories.

“I want people to know it’s possible to lose weight without a starvation diet.

“My readers can achieve their weight loss goals and this book will point them in the right direction.”

April challenges people to adopt lifestyle changes with the #LifestyleChangeWithApril 12 Weeks Challenge.

Readers are shown how to stop binge eating, curb cravings and eat more of a sustained weight loss.

“If you can do something for 12 weeks, you’re more likely to form a habit and continue doing it for the rest of your life,” she told the Recorder.

Among the many testimonies included in the book, is one from Nana, who said: “Some people think I have had a gastric band to lose weight, and I keep telling them, April has my back.

“I am over the moon with my results.”

Diana wrote: “I’ve always known how to work out and eat right but for some reason, I’m entirely dependent on a support system for encouragement.

“That’s what the LifestyleChangeWithApril gave me, a sisterhood with a common goal of creating the best versions of ourselves.”

April also includes a free meal diary to help readers catch every calorie and make every meal count.

“I love the meal diary, especially because you can’t lie to yourself.

“For people that have mental blocks, or eating disorders, try to keep a diary and make a note of what progress you’re making.”

For April, it’s all about balance.

She said: “Nutrition comes first and fitness comes after, but you have to do them together.

“We’re human beings with a passion to eat. If you take out carbs, then you’re going to lose energy when you’re working out.

“There are no short-cuts, it all has to be balanced.”
