In recognition of World Diabetes Day, members of a support group will flick the switch that will illuminate Havering Town Hall in blue light.
All around the world, iconic buildings will be lit blue on the birthday of Frederick Banting who helped invent the life-saving treatment, insulin.
To mark the special day, members of the Havering Family Diabetes Group held an information stand at Queen’s Hospital, Rom Valley Way, Romford earlier today.
The group’s vice chair, Joe Braeger, 69, of Morris Road, Harold Hill, will switch on the lights at 5.30pm this evening.
