KINDHEARTS are being urged to give the gift of life at a range of blood donor sessions held at many local venues.

In Tower Hamlets, folk can save lives at Toynbee Hall, Lecture and Dining Halls, Commercial Street, Whitechapel, tomorrow (Thursday October 2), from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

There will also be the chance to give at Canary Wharf, East Wintergarden, Bank Street, on Monday October 20, from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

Also at Canary Wharf, Friday's Bar, Britannia International Hotel, Marsh Wall, will be the venue on Wednesday October 22, from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

Sessions will also be held at Queen Mary College, Mile End Road, Mile End, on Tuesday October 14, from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

The Latimer Congregational Hall, Ernest Street, Stepney, will be the venue on Friday October 17, from 2pm to 4.30pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Newham and Tower Hamlets City workers can save lives at the Insurance Hall, Great hall, Aldermanbury, in the City, this Friday October 3, Friday October 10, and Tuesday October 21, from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

Donors can also attend the YMCA Hall, Errol Street, in the City, on Monday October 6, from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

Blood can be donated at Watermen's Hall, Freeman's Room and Court Room, St Mary At Hill, in the City, on Tuesday October 7, Thursday October 16, and Thursday October 23. All sessions will run from 9.30am to 11.30am and 1pm to 4pm.

In Barking, Abbey Sports Centre, Axe Street, will host sessions on Friday October 17, from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.15pm.

New donors must be in good general health, aged between 17 and 60 and weigh more than seven stones 12 pounds. Regular donors can give up to their 70th birthday.

In England and North Wales alone, 7,000 donations are needed every day- but only four per cent of the eligible UK population give blood.
