Patients are set to be quizzed on a new health service being formed in the borough.
Healthwatch Havering is placing surveys in 18 doctors’ practices over Easter to pinpoint the community’s views on a “GP hub”, which will book weekend and evening appointments for patients.
Following a successful pilot in two surgeries, some such appointments are already being offered in the borough.
Designed by the new Havering Health federation of GPs, the hub will provide appointments from 6.30-10pm Monday to Friday and noon to 6pm on weekends.
Receptionists at residents’ practices will be able to book consultations for them and the GPs will be able to access their medical notes, with permission.
The survey will run from March 30 to April 10.
See more on the meeting in next week’s Recorder and online.
