NHS Havering is reminding women to be tested for cervical cancer.
The cervical screening test saves about 4,500 lives a year in England, but despite this 900 women die every year from cervical cancer.
NHS Havering said in 75 per cent of cases early detection and treatment can prevent it developing.
The trust said the screening, which is also known as a smear test, is one of the most effective ways of protecting women.
Only women registered with a GP will receive regular reminders to attend screenings. To register call 0800 328 2556.
