A charity is appealing for Easter egg donations to bring a little cheer to children in need this spring.
The Havering Volunteer Centre, High Street, Romford, has so far received more than 100 chocolate eggs which will be given to those children living in hostels in the borough.
The delicious eggs that have already been donated were given by those at the centre, Network Rail, British Red Cross as well as thoughtful residents.
There are more than 190 families living in hostels in the borough and the volunteer centre’s aim is to receive at least another 30 eggs to make sure every child will have one to eat.
Chief executive officer Shelley Hart said: “We wanted to give each and every child living away from what was their home, through no fault of their own, in difficult circumstances a little joy this Easter.
“Help spread a little happiness and ensure every child gets an egg or an activity pack this Easter holiday and let them have some fun!”
To make a donation call the Havering Volunteer Centre on 01708 922214.
