Havering urged to stand up and be counted
HAVERING Council is urging residents to stand up and be counted in the upcoming national census.
This week Havering mayor Cllr Pam Light oversaw the signing of the 2011 census plan between the council and the Office for National Statistics.
She urged residents to get on board the important questionnaire, which will be sent to every household in March.
Cllr Light added: “Havering had a response rate of 97 per-cent in 2001 - the highest census response rate in London.
“I believe this reflects how much residents value local services in our borough. The future of our services depends on the accuracy of the census and we are determined to help achieve the same high response rate in 2011.”
