After 13 years of service, ministers Lythan and Phil Nervard – who are also husband and wife – said goodbye to Havering’s churches.

A special farewell service was held for the couple at Western Road United Reformed Church on Sunday June 24th. Lythan and Phil had been looking after Romford, Heaton Way, Nelmes, Trinity Upminster and Chadwell Heath URCs for the past 13 years.

The pair are now moving down to the Torbay area to continue their ministries.

Lythan’s last duty at Western Road was to plant a tree marking the church’s 350th anniversary.

On Saturday August 25th the church will hold a flower festival and open afternoon from 2pm until 5pm. Entry is free and there will be food and refreshments for sale. The afternoon will include a barbecue, brass band and nature walk.
