Havering music makers presented the cheque to Saint Francis Hospice in Broxhill Road, Havering-atte-Bower today.
Anne Brown, head of fundraising at the hospice, said: “Thanks to Havering Music Makers we have received more than £800 that will help fund our doctors and nurses working in the local community and we are so grateful for their support.”
Sharon Markham, who presented the cheque with fellow Music Maker Nicola O’Neill, said: “We put on about three shows a year and we recently performed at the Queens’ Theatre in Hornchurch, and we’ll be back there again in July.”
The concerts were held in the memory of the club’s founding members, Maurice and Eileen Williams, at St Michaels Church in Gidea Park and all the music performed had previously been sung by them.
Nicola added: “Saint Francis Hospice was very dear to Maurice and Eileen which is why we chose to raise money for them.”
