Havering residents from a wide range of religions came together last week to celebrate the cuisine of a number of world faiths.
On Wednesday, the Havering Interfaith Forum held their social evening at the Salvation Army hall in Romford High Street.
The evening was a “bring-a-dish” celebration of interfaith foods, where each member brought a meal significant to their religion for everybody to share.
Representatives from Christianity, Islam, Baha’i and Sikhism shared everything from Zam Zam water and halal meats to Jamaican curry and rice.
One audience member said: “It was a great turnout today, making it a really enjoyable event. The interfaith forum focuses on the similarities in our faiths and celebrates our differences.”
The next Havering Interfaith Forum will take place on Wednesday November 15 at the Havering Islamic Cultural Centre in Waterloo Road at 7.30pm focusing on the topic “What are the basic beliefs of our faiths?” and will form a part of National Interfaith Week.
