»House prices in Havering have fallen over the past 12 months.
According to estate agent Zoopla, RM1 and RM3 were the postcodes which saw the biggest drop in house prices, whereas RM6 and RM11 were the least affected with a change in value of less than one per cent.
The average price of a property in RM1 is £228,098, with a loss of £8,991 over the past year.
Andrew Wallington, of Haart Estate Agents in Romford, said: “Although there has been an overall four per cent drop, I don’t believe there is anything to worry about.
“The buying and selling rate has significantly risen from last year, therefore the activity is very much there.”
Zoopla’s figures have been highlighted as it launched a new way to look up UK property values with “heatmaps” which show the average current property value of homes by different colours like a heat sensor.
It uses the current value of homes to generate a colour range from red to blue, which is shown on its website.
Alex Chesterman, of Zoopla, said: “The addition of heatmaps to our site allows users to easily visualise the relative property values in any area.”
