A Havering College student has beaten young designers from across Essex and east London to be The Liberty fashion designer of the year.
The shopping centre invited entrants from 170 schools, colleges and universities to create unique clothes for next year’s summer season.
Abbie Dann, 17, won a trophy and work experience with Marks & Spencer for her innovative dress design.
She said: “I just couldn’t believe that I had won. I feel so happy. It felt amazing watching my garment on the catwalk.”
Abbie will study fashion design at the University of East London from this year.
