Four coffee shops in Havering helped raise more than £5,000 for charity in three weeks.

Two Costa branches in Hornchurch and a further two in Upminster were among 33 in the south-east that put collection boxes on display so customers could give cash to Help for Heroes during July.

Kafeel Khan, CEO of Goldex Investments – which is a partner in the region’s Costa franchise – said: “We’d like to thank our incredibly generous customers for their donations.

“We’re very aware people are feeling the pinch so it’s wonderful so many have dug deep to make a donation.”
