COMMUTERS faced difficult journeys into work this morning as part of the fourth tube strike to hit London in a few months.
The 24 hour strike between the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT)and the Members of the Transport Salaried Staff Association (TSSA) began from 6.30pm on Sunday November 28.
Around 80 stations have closed and a number of lines are partly suspended including some services running from Upminster Station.
Transport For London have put on more bus services with extra staff being deployed to cope with the influx of more passengers.
The unions are striking over plans to cut ticket office jobs, which they argue will put people’s lives at risk, but the London Underground deny this.
This is the fourth strike to hit London since August and services are not expected to get back to normal until tomorrow (Tuesday November 30).
