Havering College students held a fundraising day to help a Romford schoolgirl who has had life-changing surgery in America.

Ellie-Louise Sudbury, nine, went to the US for an operation to help her walk. She has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy.

The ‘foundation skills’ students, who have learning difficulties or disabilities, raised £60 with a mini-fete at the college’s Quarles Campus last Friday (25).

Her mum, Siobhan Sudbury, said: “We are really grateful to the Foundation Skills students of Havering College and everyone who helps raise funds for Ellie-Louise as the doctors in America want to see her again next year.”

The little girl is now having intensive therapy back at home. She is now walking so well she did an egg and spoon race at the school’s sports day using a frame.
