A Hornchurch teacher is in the running for a national award.

Colin Seabrook, a car technology teacher at Havering College, has been nominated in the 2013 Pearson Teaching Awards.

Mr Seabrook, head of school of auto and electro technology, is up for Further Education Teacher/Lecturer of the Year. Winners will be announced in May.

The teacher, who has worked at the Ardleigh Green Road college since 2002, said: “It is a real honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award. I am very fortunate to be working at such a great college alongside so many outstanding colleagues across all sectors. It is the students who keep us all enthused about our roles – it’s like starting a new job every year.”
