A Harold Wood insurance claims handler “insured” she had a good month by scooping first prize in the weekly Saint Francis Hospice lottery.

Georgia Drake, 22, took the £1,000 award and plans to spend her winnings on her car insurance which is due at the end of February.

The City of London worker said: “My mum and I have been playing the lottery since we signed up with one of the hospice’s ambassadors at a stand in the Brewery shopping centre in Romford December.

“In April my friend Linda is running in the Virgin London marathon for Saint Francis Hospice in memory of close friend of hers who they cared for so now I can use some of my lottery winnings to sponsor her a bit more generously than I originally planned.”
