Driving at three times the legal drink-drive limit earned a man 100 hours’ unpaid work, a £135 bill and 23 months’ disqualification from holding a licence.
Sixty-five-year-old Anthony Pattle, of Ingreway, Harold Wood, was found to have 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath while driving a Peugeot car in the road where he lived on Thursday, December 13. The limit is 35 microgrammes per 100ml.
Pattle, who pleaded guilty, was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge. He can reduce his disqualification from driving by five months if he attends a course approved by the Secretary of State.
He was sentenced at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 7.
