The Brownies of Harold Wood donated useful items to Harold Hill Foodbank at their local Tesco’s foodbank collection bin.
The 4th Harold Wood Brownies and their leader, Andrea Serantes visited the Tesco Extra in Bryant Avenue to donate food on Monday, February 12.
Each Brownie was challenged to see how much they could buy with £1, after which they donated their purchases at the permanent collection point in the store.
Andrea Serantes said: “All the girls really enjoyed it and it was a good exercise to see how much they could get with their money.
“The foodbank was really appreciative.”
Clover Deacon, community champion at the Romford Gallows Corner store added: “The Brownies worked really hard trying to get the most food they could with their budget, and also thinking about what items could make a good deal for someone other than themselves, rather than buying items that they would like.”
