With more than 100 trampolines, a derelict warehouse has been transformed into a bouncy hub of joy in just 12 weeks.

Jump Evolution, a 2,100 metre indoor trampoline park designed to promote fun and exercise, will open on Monday in Spilsby Road, Harold Hill.

With three Olympic size trampolines, a tumble track, battle beam, tightrope, trapezes, foam pits, dodge ball courts and basketball nets there is plenty to challenge your balance.

Divided into six zones, the uplifting park can accommodate up to 175 jumpers, while a cafe provides well deserved refreshments and food.

Steven Goldstone, one of Chigwell based Jump Evolution’s five directors said: “Just 20 minutes of trampolining is equivalent to an hour in the gym.

“The kids can have a lot of fun and not realise they are exercising.

“We want to try and get children off their play-stations and phones and get moving.”

Keen to give it a try myself, I had a go on one of the Olympic-sized trampolines – and it was surprisingly exhausting.

To keep my body straight and jump in the middle of the trampoline bed, I had to really squeeze my core, using all my leg and back muscles.

Once I got used to the feeling of the matt, I tried to get some height and do some figures.

The feeling of floating in the air was so much fun, I forgot about how physically demanding it was.

Having already approached local schools, Jump Evolution hopes the park can accommodate PE lessons and is looking to launch fitness sessions. The idea of opening a trampoline sports club has not been ruled out either.

“We wanted to be a cool place, where kids would want to come back. There is lots to do here, from the battle beams to the staircase you can jump off, bouncing or soft play, there is more of an edge to the it than other parks.”

Mr Goldstone said Havering was the company’s number one choice to open its first park because of the large number of children and schools in the area.

He also revealed the company has bigger plans and wants to expand into other parts of the country.

Having already recruited 80 members of staff, the park has also offered work opportunities in the area.

Chloe Smith, 18, of Hornchurch, has signed her first full-time contract with the new company and is “buzzing” for the opening.

“I used to practice trampoline in another centre and I did it at school as well so when this job came up I thought it would be really fun.

“This is quite a unique park because there are so many different things to do,” she said.

An £11 entry price will give keen jumpers access to the park for an hour and party packages are also available to book.

An additional £2 is required to purchase a pair of red Jump Evolution grip socks that visitors will be able to use again.

Operations manager Julie Bennett added: “I think this is a great addition to the area. It’s something different and exciting.”
