Harold Hill man charged with driving offences after New Year’s Day collision

A man has been charged with a number of offences following a collision on New Year’s Day.

Two motorcyclists, both men aged in their 20s, suffered serious injuries after the collision which involved a black Vauxhall Astra in Nags Head Lane, Brentwood, at 2.40pm.

Robert Clarke, 26, of Wigton Road, Harold Hill, has been charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs, failing to stop after a collision, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with the terms of his licence.

He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on April 19.
