Harold Hill DIY shop Screwfix searches for Britain’s Top Tradesman 2012

A Harold Hill DIY shop is calling on Havering’s manual workers to enter a competition to discover the country’s top builders, electricians, plumbers and handymen.

Screwfix, which has stores across the UK, has just launched its Britain’s Top Tradesman 2012 contest. Last year, Essex plumber Paul Martin was chosen from more than 3,000 entries after the panel heard how he had saved an elderly customer’s life by taking her to hospital.

Entries are open until October 5. To enter, visit the Screwfix store, which is in Ashton Road, or go to www.screwfix.com/btt. The winner, announced in November, will get a 27,000 Renault van.
