Halifax bank to close as fewer customers use Harold Hill branch

A Harold Hill bank will close its doors to customers in July as records show that there are 45per cent fewer customers using the branch.

Halifax in Chippenham Road will close on July 16, as more customers turn to alternative methods of banking.

More than 13 million customers access Halifax’ services through online banking and more than 9m use their mobile banking app.

At the Harold Hill branch, 403 customers use the branch on a regular monthly basis, while 21 customers use the branch on a regular weekly basis.

In their branch review, the bank stated: “We continue to respond to our customers’ changing needs.

“We have made the difficult decision to close this branch because customers are using it less often.

“You can continue to use any other Halifax branches and the nearest alternative branch is the Romford, South Street branch.”
