Pre-season friendly: Dagenham & Redbridge 0 MK Dons 1

Former Dagger Danny Green struck for MK Dons as his solitary goal saw the League One side to victory.

Daggers boss Wayne Burnett seemingly had a trialist clear out after the Ebbsfleet United defeat, with former Walsall striker/midfielder Ashley Hemmings and Jamie Cureton from the off, while George Porter was the only other on the bench.

The first real chance fell to Cureton but he saw his effort held at full stretch by David Martin, while MK Dons on-loan striker Will Grigg saw a deflected shot easily held by Liam O’Brien.

The Daggers keeper was called into action again, this time smartly tipping over Ben Reeves drilled 20-yard shot.

But the visitors did take the lead when Grigg’s effort was cleared off the line by Brian Saah and Green was on hand to rifle home from inside the box.

He almost made it two when trying his luck from the edge of the area, but with O’Brien beaten, his shot struck the post.

Worryingly Billy Bingham hobbled off through injury just before the half hour mark, with Frankie Raymond his replacement.

It was a slow start to the second half, but Cureton came off on the hour mark for fellow trialist George Porter, while MK Dons made the usual plethora of changes.

O’Brien was again at full stretch to deny Mark Randall from 20 yards, but chances were at a premium.

Daggers substitute Bradley Goldberg made a good impact with a run and shot which was deflected wide, but as the hosts pushed for a late equaliser, but in the end came up just short against the Dons.
