Prepare to be dazzled by cleaner trains in Redbridge thanks to a new programme which is hoping to create a more pleasant experience for passengers.
Greater Anglia’s fleet of electric trains which run through Ilford, Seven Kings and Goodmayes are set to sparkle thanks to the introduction of a new cleaning product which is restoring the paintwork to an ‘as new’ finish.
Customers should notice a real transformation as employees at the company’s depot in Ley Street, Ilford, are set to carry out the programme on all 257 train exteriors this year.
The new product, called Eurowash, is applied by hand and strips away any build-up of brake dust which affects the paintwork.
Head of train presentation, Peter Tyler, said: “Our exterior cleaning programme is making a noticeable difference to the external appearance of our EMU fleet, creating an excellent first impression as passengers board these trains.”
