Residents, who have recently celebrated their green being saved from a housing development, organised a fun day of welly wanging.
The Dovers Farm Estate Green committee ran the wellington boot throwing competition and a friendly tug of war contest. Adults and children came down to the green off New Zealand Way, Rainham, bordered by Queenstown Gardens and Gisborne Gardens.
“It was really fun. The kids really loved it,” said Phillip Bowen a member of the committee.
“We want to use the space as a green and have as many activities there as possible,” he added.
Last month, plans to build 32 homes on the green were refused by the council.
