Ninety guides from Girl Guiding Essex West were presented with prestigious Jack Petchey Achievement Awards at a special ceremony at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch.
The event honoured girls aged 11-25 who were nominated by their peers and leaders, winning awards for a variety of achievements but mostly for doing their best.
Winners included Kate Lewin, aged 13, who attends the 2nd Gidea Park group, in Romford and Bethany Linnell, 18, who attends the 7th Upminster group.
VIPs attending included Jan Knight, County Commissioner who said “The Leaders and Guides are a fine example of what guiding is all about today and this event has helped to highlight the reasons why.“
