Dozens of catwalk hopefuls descended on The Mercury Mall, Romford, on Saturday to register on the first scouting day of the Get into Fashion model competition.

Sisters Skyler Ward, eight, and four-year-old Roxy, both entered the competition at the weekend.

“The sisters are gorgeous and we hope they get through to the castings which are the next stage of the competition,” said model scout Julie Rolls.

If you missed the first day, don’t worry, as there are two more opportunities to enter.

Come along anytime between 11am and 4pm on either this Saturday or Saturday, September 7, where you will have a digital photo and your registration details taken.

Register with the entry form printed right and bring it along.

Some of the previous winners have gone on to model agency books. Alyssa Ponton, seven, from Romford, has appeared in the Asda magazine and Sainsbury’s family festival shoot with Myleen Klass.

With a shift towards using more “real-life” women in campaigns, the competition organisers are hoping to discover some larger models that can model the clothing from
Bonmarche and Yours with confidence and poise.

All finalists will receive choreography lessons, take part in catwalk fashion shows and a professional photoshoot.

Each winner will receive a portfolio photoshoot with POSE photographic, which will include 10 fully edited images on a CD and a share of £700 worth of gift vouchers to be spent at the Mall.

For the four to 15 age categories, one boy or girl will be awarded a year’s model placement by Truly Scrumptious Model Agency.

The free competition is organised in association with the Recorder, Truly Scrumptious Child Model Agency and POSE photographic.

All contestants under 16 must complete the parental consent within the entry form before
attending the scouting days.
