Aspiring aeronautical engineer Kishore Thamilselvan was so nervous this morning he could barely bring himself to open his results at Emerson Park Academy.

But when he finally tore open the envelope, the culmination of a long, tense wait, it turned out his worries had been unfounded.

Kishore achieved five A*s, five As and a C. He will now go on to take his A-levels in science at the Coopers’ Company and Coborn School in Upminster.

Kishore said: “I was almost going to get my family to open the results for me, but I’m so glad I did it myself – it was such a good feeling. My family are all going to be really happy for me.”

Kishore will need to do a degree in aeronautical engineering to follow his career dream. His A-levels in biology, science and chemistry will qualify him for this, and he says the hard work is far from over yet.
