The football season enters the last third of matches to be played. The weather has been causing mayhem with games called off at the last minute. Luckily, our boys have trained every Saturday morning and all our home matches have been playable. Not sure all the parents have been happy with that as they stand outside shivering in the freezing cold.

No amount of rain, wind, snow or sleet has affected the Under 9 boys, as they have continued with their excellent performances and remain unbeaten.

The mission is not only to win the remaining games, but to score over 100 goals. Our record at present is played seventeen and scored 94 goals. Caspar leads the golden boot table with 22, closely followed by Danyal, Obi and Jack who are all in double figures. The whole team plays a part in each game with every one of the squad scoring a goal. The defence have been very stubborn as we have only conceded eight goals so far. Considering we do not have a designated keeper with each player taking a turn, this proves how adaptable the team is.

The Under 11 team are having an indifferent start in the top Division of the Echo League. Recent results have improved and the defence have become a lot meaner with fewer goals conceded than at the start of the season. Having played seven a side with no offsides for four years, it is a big learning curve as they now play with more players on a bigger pitch with added linesman.

Again, they are all adaptable players as the team formation can change during a game to cope with different tactics as the game plays out. Hard work in training will only assist the boys get back on track. We are second highest scorers in the league so with a tighter defence we can push on and finish the season on a high. Archie and Raees lead the chart with 19 and 12 goals respectively.

Thank you to the sponsors LMC and The Oriental for their continued support of the club.
