Four people were injured and taken to hospital after a road collision in Brentwood this morning.

Police were called to the Childerditch Lane junction with St Mary’s Lane in Little Warley at about 9.30am after reports of a collision between two vans.

Three ambulances, a rapid response car, a duty officer and the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance were at the scene.

Two people were taken by ambulance to Basildon Hospital with back, chest and neck injuries. Two were also taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford; one had an ankle injury and the other a pelvic injury.

An East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) spokesman said: “The initial call 999 calls we received was to a report of two vans in collision with a bicycle. Land and air ambulance crews treated, stabilised and immobilised all four patients before they were conveyed to hospital for further care.”
