The A13 out of London was closed for more than an hour this morning following a collision between four vehicles.

Frustrated drivers were left queueing back through Dagenham while emergency services responded to the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed they were called to the A13 eastbound at Ferry Lane at 6.05am to reports of a collision involving four cars.

There were no injuries, but the road was closed briefly while the damaged cars were removed.

The road has now reopened and traffic has since returned to normal, although the usual congestion into town westbound remains an issue.
