A former school caretaker from Brentwood appeared in court yesterday on suspicion of committing historic sex offences.

Dale Morris, of Gloucester Road, Pilgrims Hatch, is charged with one count of raping a teenage girl in Essex between 2005 and 2007 and another count of raping the same girl between 2009 and 2011 in Norfolk.

The 45-year-old, who worked at Brentwood County High School, had his case referred to Basildon Crown Court, where he will appear on a date yet to be fixed.

Morris was arrested on April 30 2013. He is currently on conditional bail.
