Former council leader Arthur Latham died at the weekend.

Mr Latham, who led the council for six years from 1990, passed away at the age of 86 at Queen’s Hospital, Rom Valley Way, Romford, on Saturday.

During his political career, he was also a Labour MP for Paddington and Paddington North.

He lived in Romford for nearly 80 years.
