Jessica Swainland, of David Drive, Harold Wood, was joined by son Tom, granddaughter Joanna, great-granddaughter Hannah and great-great grandson Rex to celebrate her 94th birthday.

The family tucked into a delicious spread of tea and cake and presented Jessica with a lovely bunch of flowers.

“She is a sprightly 94-year-old,” said Tom.

“She always has a smile on her face and is cheerful and doesn’t complain. We can all learn a lot from her [about] how to get on with life and not complain.

“She feels very lucky and had a lovely time.”
